I was choosing between a size L or XL (for reference I have 28 waist), usually a size M, but I always purchase sizes larger than my usual because I always have my tops tucked in, plus I don't like too snug fits. I got the size XL (my sizing below are accurate, and I love it! Of course it fits a little big which is totally fine and can be fixed with a belt and little folding on the bottom part. I prefer this kind of fit, loose, comfortable, rather than a tight one!
